Your responsibilities—

  • Create and implement coherent strategies, campaigns and tactics to leverage the personal brand of our founder, the success of our founder’s book, our founder’s organization, our media coverage and the conference
  • Carry out coherent strategies to develop the online personal brand of our founder and our community in lock steps
  • Design, develop, implement, monitor and manage the community’s and the founder’s online presence (websites and social media pages)
  • Develop an email strategy and lead implementation of email campaigns. Oversee creative production and distribution of regular outbound emails and newsletter programs
  • Create and manage online initiatives including viral campaigns, online advertising, fan contests
  • Write ongoing social media communications and news updates
  • Work with our staff writer to publish weekly blog posts
  • Develop and analyze email and web metrics to monitor the success/failure of campaigns and make adjustments as necessary
  • Recruit and manage volunteer editors and moderators
  • Provide ongoing customer service to community members (answer emails and comments, route requests, provide appreciation, highlight and feature members, moderate member posts and comments)
  • Develop and maintain relationship with online community influencers, including reaching out to external blogs and online communities to promote our campaigns

Your skills—


  • Experience in online campaigns, such as grassroots and movement organizing, or customer community building and engagement
  • Solid project management experience
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and perform problem analysis and resolution at strategic and functional levels
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially in communicating with remote team members and contractors
  • Ability to write social media updates, blog posts, news updates in an intriguing, entertaining, engaging manner
  • Ability and experience managing contract programmers and web designers (some of whom are overseas in various time zones)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with using social media to build fan base and to mobilize a large crowd for actions
  • Strong knowledge of website production technologies, HTML, CSS, email mailing list management softwares, and popular content management platforms
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills
